The ReX 2 extends the range of the radio signal between the Hub and Ajax devices. This increases the opportunity to place Ajax devices in areas that have low signal strength due to distance or obstructions such as thick concrete walls, Wi-Fi noise, etc.

The Rex 2 has the capability to transmit the photo verification images from the MotionCam (indoor sensor) and MotionCam Outdoors (outdoor sensor). Please note that the standard Ajax ReX is unable to support photo verification alarms.

The next major OS Malevich update (date to be confirmed) will allow the ReX 2 to connect to a Hub via radio signal (wireless) and/or Ethernet cable as a single or second communication channel.

Like the Ajax Hubs, the ReX 2 should be plugged into a power source but it has a backup battery life of up to 38 hours.
As many as 5 range extenders can be added to the Hub 2, Hub 2 Plus and Hub Plus. This can expand the radio network coverage to up to 35km2.
