  I ordered an Ajax security system online from Amatron - Their prices were the best I could find and the service was great.  I had to return a few items I did not require and Amatron arranged for their courier company to collect and return at no cost and refunded me within 24 hours after having received the items.   Ajax is a wonderful alarm system. It’s easy to install (DIY, really) as there are no wires. It survives load shedding and has no false alarms. Then, Chris gives technically sound AND honest advice. He won’t sell you stuff you might not need.

WHY AJAX ALARM SYSTEMS

Ajax systems offer the latest wireless alarm technology for homes and business premises in South Africa. What sets Ajax alarm systems apart from other wireless alarms on the market is the level of control the Ajax system App gives the owner. You can arm/disarm, bypass devices and check the status of your system from the App. The dashboard on the App displays battery and signal levels so you will always know the health of your alarm system. You can even adjust the sensitivity of a sensor or change the volume of the siren from your phone.

Ajax’s range of sensors come with lithium batteries which only draw power when the system is armed, further extending the battery life and making ALL the Ajax devices completely wireless. This allows for quick and easy installation. Simply scan the QR code on each device with your smartphone using the Ajax systems App and then mount the device. Moving your alarm system to a new property is no longer an issue.

The geofence function reminds you to arm the wireless alarm system when you have left the property and prompts you to turn it off when you are approaching it.

When the panic button on the App is pushed, the Ajax alarms system sends your exact location on Google maps to the other users on your system.

The Hub, the brains of the Ajax system can operate 100-200 devices and gives up to 50 users various levels of authority. The Hub can be monitored by ADT and other armed response companies.

The Ajax system can easily be expanded as the owner’s requirements evolve. Fire and leak detectors, and home automation devices are also available.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the sensors pet friendly?

Ajax devices use a digital algorithm to detect human movement. As long as your pets are smaller than 50 centimeters (19.5 inches) and 20 kilograms (44 lbs), they shouldn’t set off your Ajax detectors.

What happens if the internet goes down?

If your wifi goes down, signals to your app will be sent from a sim card in the hub. Please note the sim card is not included.

Who can monitor my system?

You can allow your family, friends or neighbours to help monitor your security system by giving them access to the Ajax Hub to receive notifications. You can also link your Ajax system to armed response companies.

Who can install the system?

It’s completely up to you. You can set the system up yourself — the mobile app has interactive instructions with prompts. Or, you can have a professional installer set everything up for you and give advice on equipment placements to ensure maximum protection. We recommend that professional installers be used for larger commercial properties.

What happens if the power goes down?

The hub back up battery provides up to 16 hours of reliable operation. Once your home regains power, the hub will automatically recharge the backup battery.

Is there a monthly cost?

You only need to pay the usual monthly fee to the armed response company of your choice, should you choose to have armed response.
